When you have been stuck with the same workout and not seeing results, it is hard to convince yourself to workout. If you're like me when you're at the gym, you do the same thing most of the time. But now it is time to switch things up. Here is one of my favorite circuit workouts!
What is so nice about circuit workouts, is that it will work all of your body. The reps are short, but you should be out of breath by the end. This workout should make you feel toned and like you got a good sweat in.
The Workout
1 mile run
10 burpees (without push-ups — or with, if you want more of a challenge)
10-20 pushups
100 abs (I do 5 x 20 or 4 x 25 of different exercises)
10 bodyweight squats (add weight if you want)
10 overhead extensions (for your triceps)
10 burpees (without push-ups — or with, if you want more of a challenge)
10-20 pushups
100 abs (I do 5 x 20 or 4 x 25 of different exercises)
10 bodyweight squats (add weight if you want)
10 overhead extensions (for your triceps)
Rest: 3-5 minutes
Repeat circuit 3-5 times
Repeat circuit 3-5 times
If you are not a runner (or a beginner) the mile may seem intimidating, but take it at your pace. You can also substitute the running for most other cardio such as biking. Remember to listen to your body, you do not know what you are capable of until you try!
Good luck! Spencer
